Ways to Fundraise

Sometimes we want to give, but just don’t know how. Here are a few suggestions on how you, your family, and community can fundraise on behalf of the blind and visually impaired of North Carolina by supporting North Carolina Lions, Inc.

If you have any questions on donating please contact Hannah Earnhardt, Director of Development or call 828-578-9087. If you have any questions regarding volunteer opportunities, please contact Susan King, Camp Director at 828-478-2135, ext. 229

Children/Family

Car Wash

A classic fundraiser that drivers and community members won’t pass up. Have your friends bring buckets, sponges and soap from home or ask your local auto or hardware store to donate supplies. Speak with school, church, neighborhood, etc. to find a space perfect for your car wash fundraiser. Include the NCLI logo to your car wash poster boards to show the funds are going to a good cause.

Lemonade/Hot Chocolate Stand

This childhood favorite will sure to be a hit for your little one and patrons. Depending on the time of year, host a lemonade stand or hot chocolate stand to quench someone’s thirst or take away the cold. Include the NCLI logo on your stand to show the funds raised are going to a good cause.

Bake Sale

Most of us have a sweet tooth, so why not host a neighborhood/community bake sale. Join forces with friends, family, and neighbors to bake cookies, cakes, granola bars, etc. to support the blind and visually impaired in your community. Include the NCLI logo on your stand/table to show the funds raised are going to a good cause.

Game Night

Bring your neighbors together for a family-friendly game night. Ask that each individual provide an entry fee to support NCLI. All you need are a deck of cards, trivia questions, or your favorite board game to get this fundraiser going. Include the NCLI logo on your game night promotional materials.

Group

BBQ

Does your scout group, church, book club, etc. have a grill? Perfect! Invite your club or group to participate in a community BBQ to support NCLI. Take food, beverage, and games in exchange for a cash donation for a good cause. Include the NCLI logo on your BBQ promotional materials.

Yard Sale

Instead of hosting your own individual yard sale, invite your group or organization to participate in a community yard sale benefiting the blind and visually impaired in North Carolina. Watch your “junk” turn into something great for someone in need. Include the NCLI logo on your yard sale promotional materials.

Chores for Charity

Sometimes we just don’t want to do our chore or handy work around the house. Gather your group or organization and donate your time and skills in exchange for donations to support NCLI and the blind and visually impaired of NC. What a great and easy way to help those in need. Include the NCLI logo on your Chores for Charity promotional materials.

Dodgeball Tournament

Challenge another group or organization for a friendly game of dodgeball. Ask each registered team to fundraise a certain amount in order to participate in the event. Make sure they arrive geared up and ready for some fun. Include the NCLI logo on your dodgeball tournament promotional materials.
