See the 21st Century Mobile Screening Unit
Local Lions Clubs work with NC Lions, Inc. to provide free vision and hearing screenings in communities across the state. NC Lions, Inc. funded the purchase of the Mobile Screening Unit that is scheduled by Lions Clubs throughout the state. Through the early detection of vision problems and education of our citizens we hope to eliminate the loss of vision.
Clinical Eye Research
Eye Research provides hope for improved treatments and ultimately cures for vision loss. NC Lions provide for clinical research at the major universities in our state. These include Wake Forest University Eye Center, NC Lions Pediatric Eye Care Center at Duke University and NC Diabetic Eye Care Center at UNC Chapel Hill.
Lions Eye Health Program
The Lions Eye Health Program (LEHP, pronounced “leap”) is a community-based education program that allows Lions clubs, community organizations and individuals to promote healthy vision and raise awareness of the causes of preventable vision loss. The mission of the LEHP is to empower communities to save sight through early detection and timely treatment of diabetic eye disease, glaucoma and age related macular degeneration (AMD), and to encourage the appropriate treatment of low vision.
